Belfast City Council has 51 councillors representing the nine electoral areas across the city. We provide public services and leadership for the city of Belfast. The councillors play a key role in representing the interests of their constituents and electoral areas. The council currently has 6 committees, the members of which are appointed at the annual meeting of the council and the committees deal with issues including town planning, licensing and health issues. The Belfast City council also works with over 50 external organisations which include voluntary, community and legal groups and bodies. Belfast City Councils works with Business in the Community to develop its corporate responsibility activities and ensure that these are in line with the community’s needs.

Location: Belfast

Occupational areas for placements: Admin, IT, Marketing, Environmental Health, Facilities Management, Building Control, Architecture, Finance, Joinery, Plumbing, Electrician etc

Limitations: Belfast Zoo don’t offer placements, Dog Wardens must be 18. Plumbing, Carpentry, Joinery, Painting and Decorating are all 17 plus. A health declaration must be completed for all placements.
