The South Eastern Trust has designed a medical programme for young people who are interested in and have the required aptitude, academic results and ability to pursue Medicine as a future career choice. It’s aim is to ensure that there is equality of access to a medical work experience programme in the South Eastern Trust so as many students as possible are able to avail of the opportunity to learn more about a career in medicine and that it also meets the requirements of the universities they may be applying to.
To attend the standardised programme, the student must not have had any medical work experience before or be likely to secure a medical work experience through school or personal contacts in any Health Trust – no student can do both. Please note that this will be oversubscribed and therefore schools are asked to select students on GCSE points and grades expected at A’ Level, once confirmation of a school’s allocation has been confirmed.
This is a standardised 2 day programme endorsed by Queen’s University.
Dates of work experience are:
15 – 16 November 2018 and 25 – 26 February 2019.
