AspireMEd

September 2020 Update:

As the Aspire Med conference was held during the summer holidays many students missed out on this conference.

The team behind this have a YouTube video of the conference available here. There are very clear timestamps so students can watch this in their own time and in small sessions.

Also, for further information on Medical Careers please check our Work Inspiration resource here.

Wentin Chen, a third year medical student at the University of Birmingham recently co-founded an organisation called AspireMEd alongside two peers. They are organising a ‘getting into medical school’ conference on Saturday 8th August 2020. It is online and completely free!

This is targeted towards school students (GCSE, National 5, A Level and Higher years) and anyone else interested in applying to medicine (graduates, adults) and they have close to 2,000 registrations already.

They are really grateful to have excellent and high-profile speakers and practical workshops at the conference. One notable speaker is Professor Dame Parveen Kumar, co-founder and co-editor of international bestselling medical textbook “Kumar and Clark’s Clinical Medicine”. Please see the programme and poster for full details.

They also have the support of large representative medical organisations including Medical Schools Council, UCAT, BMAT, The Medic Portal, and Royal College of GPs to name a few!
