Date: 14 June 2021
Times: 10am – 12.30pm (to start promptly schools/students can join from 9.45am)
Platform: Microsoft Teams (the Trust must use their platform)
Limitations: Year 13 & 14
For the past 5 years, the Belfast Trust has been providing a 2.5 day medical work experience programme to give Year 13 and 14 students, with the aspiration and ability to study medicine, an insight into the career of medicine in a hospital environment. However, due to the COVID19 pandemic we are unable to provide this programme until further notice. As students make decisions about their next steps, we want to ensure that they are still informed as best they can be, therefore we are organising a short, live, virtual programme.
The programme will last 2.5 hours and will involve Belfast Trust medical staff talking about their experiences of being a doctor. Students will also be encouraged to participate through their mobiles or school devices if permitted.
This is the second programme that the Belfast Trust have run this academic year.
The Trust are suggesting running this as a ‘meeting’ rather than a live event and therefore despite it being ‘online’ numbers of attendees will be capped.
So in the first instance please register your interest as a school in participating and advise on your numbers. We will need to know how you plan to run this so we can manage ‘spaces’ for this in the meeting.
THIS IS NOT BEING RECORDED – students/schools will need to participate in the live event.
Register your interest: email@example.com No requests will be taken by individual students or parents – the register of interest must come from the school.
