Work Inspiration

Work Inspiration is a national, employer-led campaign that aims to make work experience more meaningful, relevant, and inspiring for young people. The programme responds to the gap between young people’s expectations of the world of work and business expectations of new recruits.  It combines the Department of Education’s traditional 5-day work experience placements with other inspirational business education links, including STEM teacher placements, Student insight days, Get Into…mornings, and any other inspirational, business-led idea.

From April 2019 to March 2020, we had 6,290 students attending work experience, work inspirations and participating in other careers and employability activities, and we worked with 184 schools/colleges.

Business in the Community

Business in the Community is the network for responsible business. A registered charity and membership organisation, we exist to support and challenge business to be a force for good in society. We have a presence in all parts of the UK and a sister organisation in the Republic of Ireland.

We are led by business and in Northern Ireland our 230+ members employ more than 40% of the working population. Our network is comprised of companies of all sizes and from all sectors.

Our ability to convene business is one of our greatest strengths and we use that power to encourage collaboration to tackle key societal and environmental issues.
