Come and Ask the IT Crowd
Age: students aged 11-15

This event is set up to be streamed in the school rather than individual students signing up individually. This is being run as a Discovery Workshop.
Business in the Community (BITC) is working in partnership with Speakers for Schools NI, to host an online event to provide young people with the opportunity to engage with an array of inspirational guest speakers. Innovation is integral to every sector and industry and through this workshop young people will discover how technology plays an essential part of so many job roles today and in the future from the tech sector, green industry, law, fashion, art, finance to construction.
We would love you to join us at this panel event for schools across Northern Ireland, that will offer young people the opportunity to engage with inspirational role models who have forged exciting careers in this dynamic and fast paced sector.
The event will bring together leading business experts and technologists from local companies and tech start-ups to take part in a lively panel event that will introduce young people to the ‘tech accelerated’ jobs of the future and local companies who have designed and developed amazing products and services that impact on so many aspects of our daily lives.
It will be a great opportunity for young people to begin exploring growth sectors and careers that rely on a skilled workforce of tech-savvy staff, who are innovative, creative problem solvers and work in a range of sectors.
We hope you can join us for what promises to be an excellent opportunity for young people to learn more about the importance of technology, meet local NI employers and start to explore careers and job roles they may not have considered to date or even knew existed!
Chairing the event and leading the Q&A with our guest speakers is Jonathan Ireland, Co-Founder & Partner at Lanyon Group.

Participating groups will have the opportunity to take part in a Q&A with our guest speakers. (We can provide links to their organisations and biographies of the speakers closer to the time).
Through this event, we hope to inspire young people and provide them with the opportunity to learn about the careers and how to overcome any challenges that they may encounter along the way.
