Applications are now open for the 2023 Schools Legal Work Experience Programme – 1-3 August 2023
This is a 3-day online work experience placement providing a full overview of what it’s like to work in a leading commercial law firm. Students will get valuable experience and discover for themselves what law in practice is really like. What’s more, the experience will give their CV a real boost.
The school work experience programme is a great way to get an insight into the commercial world and develop your skill set.
Date of Placement: 1-3 August 2023
Hours of Work: 3 days (expected 10.00am – 3.00pm)
Location: Virtual – online

They’ve designed the programme so you’ll work with – and learn from – some of their top people. And they’ve aimed to make it interesting, informative and fun.
Here’s what you can look forward to:
- A supervisor who will help you discover the skills you’ll need to be a successful lawyer
- Contributing to a business group exercise
- Attending engaging presentations
- Going over CV & application tips and discussing your career plans with your supervisor
ELIGIBILITY:
- At least 16 years old and up to 19 years old
- Have completed GSCEs or equivalent (GSCE grade 7-9 or equivalent)
- Currently studying towards your AS or A-levels, or other equivalent or at a gap year prior to starting an apprenticeship / university
If you don’t meet the above criteria but there are mitigating circumstances that explain why you’ve failed to meet the minimum academic requirements, there’s an opportunity for you to include this information in your application.

You can take part in an optional in-person Insight Day in the autumn (dates TBC) at Pinsent Masons Belfast office. They’ll ask you if you are interested in this when you complete the application form.
